A Midsummer Nights Dream by William Shakespeare

"I pray thee, gentle mortal, sing again;

My ear is much enamour'd of thy note;

So is mine eye enthralled to thy shape;

And thy fair virtue's force perforce doth move me

On the first view to say, to swear, I love thee"

The theory

I’m in love with nature. The earth has music for those who listen, the songs of the birds, the sighing of the trees as the warm breeze filters in through the leaves, the gentle babbling of a brook in the distance and the hum of nature as she continues building her kingdom. As I feel most at piece when I’m surrounded by nature I wanted the wedding to truly embrace that side of me.

the look

Naturally I designed my own. With the wonderful talents of Kaydia Torrel who made my paper scribbles turn into something much more than a wedding dress. Were BIG on fabric here at Lovely Days, fabrics can completely change the way an image looks or how it makes the person feel when held. So I knew when designing the dress I wanted fabrics that draped, swayed and diffused light through it. I think it shows in the images a real old world ethereal look.

I knew I didn't want to have marquee doors to lead the way into the marquee, it had to be something different so it made sense to make a secret garden door, again I scribbled it out and left it to my hand man (Dan) to make it happen, also we wanted a different bar something that fitted in with the rest of the day, enter handy man Dan.

Our families really pulled together to help make our dreams come true. My poor brother in-law sanded the wood slices which were used as the guests place settings, my nan and aunty sewed all the tiny little flowers on the flower girls dresses, my granddad made his famous pork pies for the evening banquet and my wonderful mother made all the cakes and desserts. Not to mention every single family member helping out on the days before the big day lifting, shifting and making sure everything was in the right place.

Obviously there was only one person I would have do my flowers! Eden by Claire of course, Claire brought my dreams to life, she knew exactly what I like and how I pictured the day to look, how I wanted guests to feel they had entered into a secret/enchanted garden. Claire got it, and with hardly any direction I left her to it. What she created was beyond my expectations.
